NBC bans SCIENCE STUDENT by Olamide

Nigeria Broadcasting Commission,(NBC) has slammed a Not To Be Broadcast (NTBB) warning against a recent song by rapper Olamide entitled, Science Student.

The notification proscribing the song from being broadcast was sent to all radio and television stations across the country during the week.

Also, the Head of Public Affairs, NBC, Hajia Maimuna Jimada confirmed NBC’s stand on the trending song on Wednesday, stating that while the regulatory body did not ban the song outrightly, it considered it unfit for broadcast.

“NBC does not ban music. Our mandate is on what goes on Radio and TV. Olamide’s Science Student has been declared ‘Unfit for broadcast,’” she said.

Asked about the context in which the song was declared unlawful, Jimada, hinted on the profligate mention and the subtle promotion of illegal drugs. She also issued standing warning to all broadcasting corporations within its jurisdiction.

“We have communicated all our licensees for compliance or they will face sanctions,” she said.

Often called King of the Street, Olamide engages his own indigenous tongue in what may be considered a subtle and metaphorical description of the different ways in which drugs and substance are being abused in the streets of Lagos. He mention the use of prohibited drugs such as Codeine, Tramadol, illicit substances such as Monkey tail, Skushi, Shisha, Alomoterming, referring to those who use and mix them as Science Students. This classical attribution follows what science students do in the laboratory, which is mixing chemicals.

Though, Olamide appears to reveal these activities in his song using expressions such as ashiri eko otituloju ewe, ashiritu, (the revealing of secrets), by singing about drugs and judging by the general ambience, not to mention the kind of visuals that would entail this son

JAMB: Step by step guide on how to register for 2018 Jamb

This easy to use manual is to help you register for the 2018 JAMB UTME.
After the Joint Admission Board Released the procedures for the registration of this year exam.
We are pleased to present you a summary of how to go about it without loosing your head.  Please read carefully and feel free to ask us any question via the comment box below.
Below are the steps you need to follow in order to register for JAMB 2018. 

STEP 1  To register for 2018 UTME, the first thing to do, is to create a confirmation code with your phone, by sending your “Surname Firstname Othername” to 55019. You will be charged #50 (fifty Naira) for the SMS.  After you’ve done that, you will receive a confirmation code from JAMB. 

STEP 2  Then, proceed to any commercial bank (UBA , Firstbank, Union bank etc) to purchase the JAMB E-pin. When you get to the bank, ask for instruction from any of the bank staffs you see. You will be asked to provide the confirmation code which JAMB sent to your phone, they will need it in order to generate your E-pin. 

STEP 3  Now that you have purchased the JAMB E-pin, you can now go to any JAMB CBT registered centre you know. You will be asked to provide your o’level result, JAMB E-pin, your confirmation code, and your passport ( they might use the laptop to snap you). 

STEP 4  After you have successfully registered for the JAMB 2018, you will be given a print out of the JAMB registration and also the compulsory storybook. 

BREAKDOWN OF 2018 UTME REGISTRATION FEES.  JAMB E-pin + storybook =#5000 + #500 ( to be paid together in the bank). CBT registration fee= #700 (to be paid after you have successfully registered for JAMB 2018).

The total cost is N6200  You should also know that the phone number you will use for receiving the confirmation code must not have been used previously for that purpose.

LASU Sets This Date As Deadline For Admission Screening (SEE)

Management of the Lagos State University (LASU) on Thursday, said that students offered provisional admission for the 2017/2018 session, should finish their screening by January 15 or forfeit admission.

Mr. Adekoya Martins, the spokesman of the university, stated this in an interview with NAN.  The screening of new students had started on January 2.  L

ASU offered provisional admission to 3,500 students ahead of the new academic session.  The university had increased the acceptance fee from N10,000 to N20,000 payable once, while its tuition remains N25,000.

Martins added that the turnout for screening and registration of the new students had been impressive.  “But for those who refuse to register before the deadline of January 15 without a genuine reason, they may have to forfeit the admission,” he said.

(Shocking) Man Impregnates Mother-In-Law In Nasarawa State ( Wife Seeks For Advice)

This is another matrimonial issue as reported by the wife as she seeks advice.

A 45-year-old a farmer and carpenter identified as John Ulaha has impregnated his mother-in-law and putting his wife, Victoria, in a fix, Sun online reports.

In mid-September 2017, John and his mother-in-law, Mrs Ashetu Igbasue, 42, had relocated to Awe, Nassarawa State, in order to fast-track their harvesting. Three months into the pair’s sojourn, Ashetu got pregnant.

Mrs Igbasue said that it all started on the farm during a joke which led to sex later in the night when they returned from the farm. “I agreed to his demand for sex and thought it was just to satisfy his sexual feelings, but somehow, it became a daily thing,” she confessed…

“I never thought I could get pregnant due to my age. I told my daughter the truth so that we can get a solution to it and out of anger she went public with it. I have since regretted my action. My intention is to find a way and abort it…

My daughter earlier agreed to look for somebody to abort it for me because I can’t keep it. The whole thing was a temptation and I completely regret it. I have pleaded for forgiveness from her.”.

John, however, claimed that his mother-in-law seduced him by always exposing herself while they worked on the farm, especially, whenever both of them came together to eat. “She would always sit half-naked before me; at first, it was embarrassing to me,” he said…

“But I later discovered that her actions were an open invitation and as a man, I was tempted at a point, and that led to something else. And we both continued in that order until our actions resulted in pregnancy.”.

Expressing her disappointment at her husband’s behaviour, Victoria remarked: “It would have been better for him to get a second wife who will be stationed at home or even look for a girlfriend to satisfy him in my absence rather than going into a love affair with my own mother; it is a very shameful thing and an abomination of the highest order; it is wrong.”

Victoria has not recovered from the shock yet as she seeks advice.
