Gunmen Kill 2 Policemen, Kidnap Portuguese In Kogi

Two policemen were killed by unknown gunmen and an expatriate abducted at a construction site in Kogi State  The gunmen were said to have killed the policemen that were guarding the expatriate who was working on a road construction project in the area. 

The incident, which happened at about 7 pm on Monday. The deceased include a police inspector and a sergeant.  The attack occurred along the Obajana-Oshokoshoko road, Lokoja local government area. 

The hoodlums were said to have laid ambush for the expatriate identified as Jose Mechada.  It was gathered that the gunmen had emerged suddenly from the bush while Machada, a Portuguese Engineer was working on the project handled by AG Dangote Company Ltd. 

The gunmen were said to have attempted to abduct the expatriate which led to a gun duel with the policemen.  However, during the exchange of gunshots, the police sergeant, Gini John was shot dead on the spot, while the second policeman, Inspector Ezekiel Negedu who was also shot, died later at the hospital. 

After overpowering the policemen, the rampaging gunmen abducted the expatriate engineer and fled into the bush.  The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Kogi State command,William Aya, said there were about gunmen that conducted the operation.

 He said the Commissioner of Police has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in charge of operations to mobilise operatives from the Special Anti-Robbery Squads (SARS), the Police Mobile Force (PMF), the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) and conventional policemen to comb the bushes.

Prostitute Sells 3-Year-Old Daughter, Kidnaps Another Baby

A prostitute sold her three -year-old toodler for N280,000 to enable her offset an alleged debt burden  A prostitute has been arrested in Ogun State for selling her three-year-old daughter. 

Olubunmi Funke sold the little girl for N280,000 and used the money to settle her debt.  The suspect revealed that she sold her daughter to a member of a child trafficking ring, who also requested for more children. 

Funke said she took to prostitution to raise money when she was sent away from her matrimonial home.  

“I gave out my three year old daughter to Abibat Oyesanya who is into local adoption business. But she promised me that I would be allowed to visit my daughter once in three month.” 

“I am a prostitute, I engaged in prostitution after my first husband sent me packing. So, I decided to give out my daughter to the woman who gave me N280,000. I used the money to offset my debt.” 

"The woman also requested for more children based on more demands from those adopting children.

That is why I kidnapped the baby girl in Bodija, Ojurin, Ibadan, and brought it to the woman.”  Oyesanya, 51, admitted buying the child and said she sold her for N300,000 to a policewoman whose whereabouts could not be traced.

Army Rescues 85 People From Boko Haram Captivity

The Nigerian Army has said its troops killed 11 Boko Haram insurgents and destroyed a bomb-making factory at Ngala Local Government Area  The Nigerian Army is not relenting in its effort to rid the north of terrorists.

 It said its troops have killed 11 Boko Haram insurgents and destroyed a bomb-making factory at Ngala Local Government Area of Bono.

  The Director, Army-Public Relations, Brig.-Gen. Sani Kukasheka, said this in a statement in Maiduguri.  He added that during joint operations with the Air Force and Civilian Joint Task Force on Tuesday, the Army attacked insurgents’ hideouts at Mogole, Ngaiwa, Tongule, and Warsele villages.

The List of Universities that offer admission without JAMB or schools that accept admission without Jamb into University has been posted below in this article.

The list which contains Federal University to apply without JAMB is very important especially for candidates who are unable to secure admission into any University because of them not passing JAMB. IJMB is the best out of the ways one can gain admission without JAMB.

The List of Schools that accept admission without JAMB Are:

1. IJMB Programmes  This is an INTERIM JOINT MATRICULATION BOARD which is is an Advanced Level (A level) program of 9 months that projects the successful applicants to gain admission directly into 200-Level in the Universities which will be listed below.  The IJMB Programmes allows admission without Jamb into Universities and candidates can apply or gain admission into 200-level in the eligible Universities through Direct Entry. It is a very legitimate program as can be seen in JAMB brochure. You can apply to this Programme without JAMB but it requires your o’level result be it Waec, neco, nabteb etc.

2. National Open University (NOUN)  The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) does not require or mandate its applicants to sit for JAMB before applying for admission to study in the University.

The Open University of Nigeria has many attributes or features which makes students or applicants to apply for the school which some of the features are:   
No JAMB result is required     The Admission is very fast (Admits within 3 days)     The branches of the school are almost in all States of the Federation.They offer undergraduate, Diploma, Certification, Postgraduate, Masters & Ph.D    Programmes They dont go on srike     All courses offered there are Four years course  

3. JUPEB Programmes  This is a Joint University Preliminary Examination Baord and its a National Examination Body with the responsibility of Conducting Examinations for students who have undergone approved subject combinations and are seeking for Direct Entry admissions into Nigerian and Partnering Foreign Universities.  With Jupeb, Successful applicants can gain admission into 200-le List of Schools That Accept Admission Without JAMB Through JUPEB.

Lagos State commissioner for Health, Dr.  Jide Idris, on Monday said that two suspected cases of Monkeypox have been recorded in the state. 

The Commissioner disclosed this at a news conference on Monday, saying that the two suspected cases were currently under observation in health facilities  in the state.

 “Though no confirmed case has been recorded, there is need to sensitise members of the public and provide adequate information on measures for prevention and control of the disease in line with the policy of the State government,” he said.
